Boat Check-in and Check-Out Procedures

Challenge:

Staff members at a summer camp have not been following boat check-in and check-out procedures consistently and correctly. This has resulted in multiple unnecessary Water Emergency Searches at the camp.

Solution:

In addition to an eLearning module for staff members to complete on their own prior to their arrival at the camp, I created a job aid to be posted at the Boat Station for quick reference.

Result:

Staff members reported that it was easier to remember the steps for check-in and check-out when they were clearly posted at the boat station. Water Emergency Searches were reduced to zero during the summer in which this training and job aid were utilized.
